10.DETAIL The man on the left is my great grandfather Tom Oram and the other man is almost certainly his father, Abel Oram (b Shepshed 1802). This photograph was probably taken at Bromley in Kent in 1870/71. Abel died at Bromley in December 1871. The photo was taken in a garden, which may well have been 43 Palace Grove, Bromley, Kent.There is a story told to my father by his father about Louis Napoleon of France, when in exile in Bromley. Louis Napoleon bred the same kind of dogs as Tom Oram and the story goes that he and my grandfather met and discussed dogs among other things on their walks.
